A friend bought an old pickup{always seemd to have a bad smell to it} and the differential started making noise so he pulled the cover and it was stuffed full of bannanas,He said that was the worst smell He ever encountered.:bouncing::bouncing:

My Dad told me that, back in the 40s and early 50s, local less-than-reputable used car dealers would put bananas in noisy transmissions.

legend is that the (at one time) altitude record for actually driving a car was held by a Citroen 2CV in the Andes back in the 50s or so with the crankcase filled with mashed bananas because they'd holed the pan on rocks.
