I don't usually get all concerned about the winter weather warnings. I do live in Pittsburgh and it does snow, sleet, freezing rain here. Someone once said it is because God hates us. :D

But this winter has been so mild that I got spoiled. We have a goldfish pond and it hasn't formed enough ice to turn off the waterfall. But this weekend forecast sounds like we are due for a reality check. And here I though the dafodils would come out next week and it would be over.:(

Same here Jim. The St. Lawrence River is wide open/was frozen for about a week in total around New Year's. Currently nice fluffy big flakes coming down and right around 32.

Supposed to drop to 0 or below tonight and a high of 10 tomorrow. The weather channels are all having fits about a flash freeze.

The roads should be very interesting by morning. It will likely all melt again by the end of the week. Spring's only 5 weeks away give or take.B)-

Ha...I wish...this morning it was -25C with a windchill of roughly -30C to -35C I know if you convert it to "F" it really does not seem that cold.
That being said, going out or walking in those temps at 7am is not something I would be doing if it wasn't for my dog!!!
Plus, the snow in my backyard has to be about 3ft deep so it won't be going anywhere fast, anytime soon!!!

LOL when I first got Morgan,(January 07) I was advised to keep her away from the sidewalks and streets to prevent her catching something until her shots were done, so it was to the backyard we went, (now I walk her around the block at least twice at day)I built/shovelled her this in my backyard to give her exercise and tucker her out. Mind you she does love winter much to my shagrin...:(

Kim, A woman who looks after her dog is admired in the South, very much admired.

We're about to get something as well...about 30cm. Let's see...30 divided by 2.5, carry the 1...zzzzz This conversion stuff is for the birds.

But at least I'll be able to burn the gas out of the snowblower before it goes bad, or separates, or turns into varnish, or whatever.

Now that is some impressive snow shoveling!! I would have to use the snowblower. And yes, I put fresh gas in it and it started a couple months back.

Thanks Ken, Now that I have her I don't know what I would do without her!!! She may not be the most well trained pooch on the planet, however she is her own pooch, and I love her just the same.

Believe me, it didnt happen all at once, it kinda just grew into what it became. I called it her racetrack as she would run around it like crazy.
It was no hardship tho, for she makes me laugh with her antics at least once a day. She moonwalks on slippery floors, she has run with scissors, plastic hammers, loves pine needle branches and freshly cut grass, think of Popeye, she will "talk" to everyone she meets, and then some. She is so people friendly, I think she has more friends than me :), most of the neighbours on the street she knows and expects a treat (carrots)from them.

When I fell deeply in like with my woman a part of that was because of her love of animals. My figuring is if she'll treat animals with compassion then as I age she will care for me...to some degree. I am happy you posted the picture, your efforts have my respect. Your a good woman Charlie Brown.

Sorry to hijack your thread Underdog.

This is a pic of Morgan April of last year, one of our last snowfalls, how could you not laugh at this mug. I did have to put her in the tub shortly after this to melt off all the snow she accumlated while rolling around in the stuff.

Jim,
We've had the same kind of "non winter" here in upstate NY.
Usually we're burried about this time of year but not this year.
The guy that plows my driveway usually comes every day and sometmes
more than once a day in "normal" winters. This year he has been
here twice ALL WINTER. I think the snow took a vacation but they
are predicting some snow tomorrow. We'll see.

This one is easy:

10 cm = 4 inches. 30 cm = 12 inches. Not totally accurate, but close enough.

Winter is here, Too, dammit! 40 degrees outside now and predicted low tonight of 30. Must be the third one night freeze we have had thus far! Totally unacceptable! Think the nightly lows will be above 50 all next week-much better

Ah, thought so. We have one as well. Probably the best dog we have ever had. He just had kidney stones removed last week. We spend more on Schotz's medical bills than on mine!
