I need to know the FUNCTION of each wire used for the wiper motor. Don't refer me to the normal wiring diagrams, because they're not described.
This is a '71 B.
green/pink - main power feed?
Black - earth
red/lt green
blue/ltgreen
brown/ltgreen
I assume these are for speeds? Which gets powered up for what?
I'm installing the Power Block kit from Advance Autowire and only get wipers in the "off" position. All the wires are color matched per the diagram, so I need further info before being able to effectively diagnose the problem.
Thanks.

www.mgb-stuff.org.uk has lots of info, diagrams of each function(low speed, high speed, off, park). Go to electrics, wipers, and they explain the power sources, also. That's the best I can suggest.
i think you can figure it out from rick astley's book.
sigh, don't ya miss kimberly sometimes? i wonder if she's had her day in court yet.
Ooh, there's a cold shot out of the dark. And yes.
Edit: It is possible to wire a two speed motor so that you only g et one speed. Wiring it correctly results in two speeds and it never parks even in off. Figure that.
Jeff,
Take a look at this: http://www.vtr.org/maintain/wiper-problem.shtml
This may not be exact but some of the colors seenm to match and may get you close

Mark - thank for the link! Its exactly what I needed!
Drake, unfortunately I don't have a copy of Rick's book. I need to get one. Its an interesting read!
Update: Off works, low works, high doesn't work. No idea if they park yet or not.
Thanks for all the help - this will get tackled tomorrow (Monday) unless I can't sleep tonight from thinking about it.
Dan, that link is great!!! That should get me out of this pickle.
BTW, I found a "glitch" in the Powerblock kit. No power to the coil while cranking. Rewired around the ignition relay to feed switch power directly to the tach and all is well. I hate ignition relays!!! One way or another they'll always leave you stranded.
Jeff,
I ran into a similar problem when a local friend installed a powerblock kit in his MG. Turned out to be a miswiring between the power block and the ignition switch. Did you connect the white/green wire from the powerblock to the white wire from the ignition switch? Connecting the white/green wire to the white/green wire from the ignition switch will cause the problem you described.
Dan, that's EXACTLY what I did. Seems logical, right? Why not change the wire color back to white and tag the 3 white wires from the Powerblock so we know where they go???
I'll just leave things as they are however, with the exception of the Green/white wires being hooked to anything. I have no accessories at this point, and still hate ignition relays. There's still no reason for them. The huge pieces of solid brass in the ignition switch don't really need to be isolated from anything, nor does the coil need straight battery voltage.
I really do appreciate the heads-up on this. I'm very happy to know where I screwed up!!! :D
