There have been issues in the past with the design and type of bushing used on the uprated Addco 7/8 inch front anti sway bar. I won't take all the credit for an improved design, but will say little has been done prior to my prodding them. In the past the end was an in house design and their kit included a liability laden end link bush...very poor design at best.
In speaking today with the plant manager, it seems they are coming around to my thinking that the end needs to be designed for the stock metalastic style end link bushing. This will mean that the poly bushing I uniquely offer in black will easily fit the new design. This impacts the MGB owners as well, but isn't nearly as critical with the lighter car.
This upgrade is in my mind one of the most significant and rather easy and cheap way to get better control of the nose heavy MGC. Much cheaper than say, a Rover V8 conversion...:D
There are a couple of members here who have expressed interest in the front bar and rear bars. I have emailed you the news update.

I haven't looked at my bushes for years and probably should. I agree that the flat rubber washers aren't very good and tend to wear, while the stock style are much better. I'd be interested in seeing just what you have come up with for links.
Yep got your email Robert...Thanks Again for all of the investigation work.
Cheers
Paul
I was never very happy with the ADDCO setup.
Front bar end bush was just a piece of rubber hose as far as I could tell.
Rear mounted to the tabs on the front of the spring perch on the axle. Ripped that off in short order. Made a much better mount after that.
Made a hard plastic bush for the front bar end shortly after buying my bars (about 1978?) Worked OK, but worked loose too much with use.
A while ago I found a 7/8" (or 15/16" whatever it is) reamer. Mounted my old ADDCO front bar in my lathe and reamed out the end to take the factory bush. Looks like it will work a lot better.
C Ya,
Mark
That is exactly the issue I am trying to resolve with Addco. They have a legitimate bushing there now, in lieu of the rubber hose which only occupies space imho. But the ultimate solution is what you landed on also imho. Just trying to get an informative response between HQ and R&D...not easy! :S
Robert,
Do you see any end to the issue in site...or would you suggest going the route Mark took?
Thanks
Paul
