I'm still tring to put together the info i'll need for my v8 conversion. i've found a motor and most of the other parts i need, but now i'm worried about stopping. not that I'm worried about hurting anyone, What with all those SUV's on the road. I'm sure they would not mind me using their rear bumper to slow down with, (crunch) but what do i do on quiet back roads? the flintstone stoping method probably wont work to well as addidas make lousy break shoes. there must be a better way to stop. I was wondering if anyone has delt with mgb gtv8s? did they use the same breaks? if not can the parts be swapped?

In Lindsay Porter's DIY guide he mentions a cheap way to build V8 front brake calipers by putting togther half of a stock MGB caliper and half of a Triumph somethingorother caliper. I'll look it up tonight if you'd like me to (email me if you're interested)

I have also heard of people using Porsche calipers but I don't have any more information on that.

The brake pads Scott mentions are in the sale flyer I just got from Moss. It says they are larger, but fit all MGB calipers.

I think if you goto stainless lines, for more positive pressure and go for carbon fiber pads for reduced fading, you should be good to go. Cross drilled rotor would benefit if you do any kind of aggressive driving.
If you have a boost servo, it would definitely help with driver fatigue.

Thanks, Skye. I may never use it , but it's tucked away in my "favorites".
