Magellan , Garmin , TomTom ? I seen some ads in the paper and was wondering if anybody had one of these and their opinions on them . I read reviews for them but who knows who writes those. The ones I have seen are all for under $200 . My wife is wanting one baaaad , she's Colombian and has no idea at all where anything is , still !

Mine is Magellan, but they are all good. It all depends on how much you want to spend. :)

Eric, Wife and I are in awe of our Magellen 4250. One of our requirements was a Bluetooth hands free telephone capability. We've been all over west coast from Seattle to Tiajuana. Works great especially in high density urban areas. We love "Maggie". Look for it on sale if possible.

They are all good, with different features and preferences. My husband prefers his TomTom, I like the Garmin better because it calls out street names to turn onto which is better for me. My Garmin has more features, most of which I have never used and/or never will...

I have a tom tom one, It works great and is cheap. Only thing that is missing is that it doesn't tell you how fast you are going. I used to enjoy watching that and comparing it to my inaccurate speedo.

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 770. It has bluetooth(new cell phone law makes it important) and has a built in mp3 player. You can program it to play through your car stereo so it works great. I found it on Ebay for 200. and bought it right away. Continental General is giving away GPS units with a purchase of 4 tires so that may be the way to go for free!
