Heya Guys,

I'm picking up a MKIII B and it is pretty run down, I'm not fussed in having everything original just wanting something to drive around. In oz the parts aren't as easy to come by and I was wondering what seats you could swap out for the originals? Would an early model miata set of seats be compatible? Open to any suggestions?

Cheers,
Dave.

I've got first-generation Miata seats on my car. I like them. Bit of a challenge to get them in but well-worth it. Here's a photo of them installed:

I have Miata seats in mine too. They almost bolt right in. I used the front captive nuts but had to drill holes in the floor for the rear. The floor is thin in that area so I used backing plates. I also used grade 5 bolts.

I've been told that good seats is like adding hp to your car....

I'm working on installing a set of Corbeau Clubman's so I'm hoping to get another 100 hp :-)

Would I be horse whipped, sent to the Russian front, then shot a dawn if I managed to get a set of Porcha 914 seats into my '77 'B'?

Dwight,

If that does happen to you, can I have your car? I'll look after it.........promise! Even if it does have Porsche seats...

By Porsche 914 Club purists possibly but by anyone else it is unlikely.

Pete.

I put in Fiero seats, then tried Miata seats. I love the Miata seats, so they are still in my car! Nice feel and fit my car and my back side.

The only problem with Fiero seats these days is finding them

Larry,

I don't know what you have in the Springs for pick n' pulls, but it seems like I usually see a few Fieros in Denver. Have you been to any pic n' pulls in Denver? There is a new one near Broadway and I-70, very large yard, well-kept. I think I saw 2-3 Fieros the last time I was in the GM section. Just went to the foreign section yesterday.

Brad,

There have been a few Fieros in the local yard, but not often, and then pretty well trashed. I finally ended up finding a set online, but it took me about 6 months or so.

Another choice - I have Honda Del Sol seats in my Sprite and am happy with them. Go to http://tinyurl.com/67n82u and scroll down a ways for a look of you are interested.
