Lana and I pulled into our drive at 10:00 last night after almost 13 hours on the road. Had a GREAT time in St. Looie, and enjoyed meeting everyone from the BBS and tipping a few with most of them. I hope everyone makes it home safe and sound with good memories of the event and the journey.
Kim and Tom, congratulations on your trophies!!! Gary, I hope you get your little 'trophy' mounted properly as Chuck suggested!!
I had one or two small problems on the way back, a bad diaphram in the PCV valve started sucking oil out of the crankcase and belching out clouds of pretty blue smoke, then my speedometer quit. Minor problems, easy fixes. One of our Texas travellers blew a tire at 75 mph while right next to a semi, that got exciting for a moment! I've never seen a tire go like that, it sounded like a shotgun, then a piece of it wrapped around his emergency brake cable and locked up the wheel. He kept it under control and got to the side, I'm not sure how. I do know there was a large sucking sound similar to a suction cup as he got off of the seat, though!!!! Probably never get the pucker mark off that seat cushion.
All in all, a great time was had, and great folks were met. Looking forward to Jersey already!!!

That may be one of the only times an MG emergency brake cable actually DID lock up the back wheels!
Ken, let me know how that ignition switch works out for you. I had a spare PCV diaphragm with me too... If only we'd known!
I did install the switch at home yesterday (the old one made it home, but started acting up about 10 miles past the Texas border) and it seems to be fine so far. Thanks a bunch!!
As to the PCV diaphragm, I just pulled the hose from the side cover off and ran it downwards like the old road tubes. Then I removed the PCV and installed a spare spark plug in the hose it came out of atop the manifold. Looked a little odd, but worked fine!!
You don't know how many old MGB's are running 'round L.A. just like this !.
