Anyone have snow yet? I would love to see some B's in the snow. Or at least some snow. Thanks.

I've been driving em in the snow since age 16 and l love to do so. I've also been scolded on this site for doing so ---- because of the salt on the highway I'm told.

Sure is fun though to strap a sleigh on the luggage rack and head out for a nice slope and I guess I'll continue doing so :) :) :)

I mean this year. Naomi, I am sure you have driven your's in snow . You are up in the beautiful mountains of Virginia, high enough to get snow fairly often I would think.

Snowed here Friday.....but being New Mexico, by the time I got the camera out it was melted (being 400 miles south of Denver makes ALL the difference).

No snow here yet, probably not until December...I won't take the B out when it does snow because DELDOT salts the roads.

Took me 19 years to undo the results of winter driving (rust). I don't go out unless the roads are practically bare - and free from salt!

But - the cars mostly do fine in winter. The carbs never really run right below about -20C. They are very cranky at -30C (about -25F). But I have started my B in -40C/-40F weather without having it plugged in. But my baby's days of having to put up with that are behind her! Now - my wife just wishes that we would move someplace warm so her days of putting up with that would be behind her too! ;)

Used to drive my 64 in the snow all the time in the late 60s early 70s. I did have studded snow tires on the rear though. A favorite memory is being on a ski trip in Aspen Co, February 1972 and seeing Porsche 911s and a Jaguar XKE with ski racks on the back - beautiful!

I took this one of my A in the snow last year

Bought my first one new in 1974 and was my only vehicle for 13 years, so yes I drove it in snow. My little snow plow....

None yet here but not too far off. I will have to put on the studded tires pretty soon as the HTR200's are useless in the snow.

a bad habit

I don't recomend this in anyway. When I was younger and less wise. I was having trouble getting traction in about 5" of snow with a 73 midget, well I grabed the luggage rack and my wife drove the car home while I sort of went skiing. It was a very small town and no police. Yes it was fun.

Here is a picture from last year, but it was repeated this week. I had two slow mornings driving to work, but the B handles OK in the snow. It was either the B, the Mini or the Riley Elf. (that is Austin Mini, nto a BMW imposter)

What is your altitude? At my aunt's place in Red River at 8,700 feet it tends to stick ok. On a related note, how well does a B run at ~9,000+ feet?

Didn't take me 19 yrs but my LBCs don't go out after the first salt truck strikes either. I have sacrificial Detroit iron for that purpose. Besides, I doubt Hagerty would take too kindly to a phone call reporting I slid off the road in a blizard! :(

Donno about Denver but we hit 64 today and all the snow below 8500 feet has evaporated. Just a liitle left under the pine trees. Looking up to the mountains is sweet though.

Read a little story, in "MG Driver" or other, but something about the guy having a beater TR3 just so he could drive it in the snow. It all makes sense to me. I remember piling 3 girls into my 64 and going off Christmas shopping ... wish I could do that again!
