Never used them, but I would recommend checking with Hap from Acme Speedshop.
Hapbuild these engines for a living and can tell you what will work, and what is good quality. He can also get the parts for you at a reasonable price.
I think they enjoy a good reputation. There are a lot of series A tuners and parts suppliers.
Pretty sure. I know them. Before the internet. Same name same town. I bought a bearing type throwout bearing for my 74 Midget. Yes a actual throw out bearing instead of a thick layer of "plastic". It was excellant. Maurice
Right now I am looking to get more hp.I would like to pull one of those popup tent camper like the use for motorbikes when I go camping with my wife.
I spoke with my favorite A series engine tuner last night specifically about that company and your issue. As I told you in a PM neither the crank nor the ribbed case transmission should be an issue if they indeed are trouble free now.
He suggested a lower ratio rear end for the pulling chores which will impact your
top speed. That is the only suggestion he offered BTW.
The 1275 crank is nigh on to bullet proof and you could spend several 1000s trying to gain a modest HP over 100. 125HP at 7800rpm is pretty expensive but possible.
He flat out would not recommend the company nor its product nor the need for it. FWIW
Run away from PAECO as fast as you can."
Thanks for saving me from having to say that, anyone who has been around this stuff for awhile, already knows this.
Kevin, if you're looking for more cubes for a 1275, 1380cc is the way to go, and that is all accomplished with boring.
Karl and Hap reflect about what my guy said...I just didn't want to put it quite as stongly...:bouncing:
well thats what I was trying find out.Had the same trouble in the VW world. Some people did not care if the stuff worked or lasted.New to the MG stuff so I have know idea whats out there and what works and what to stay a way from.I guess that my VWs will out run the my MG.
