They're close all right. My big feet get hung up every now and then.

Something looks amiss to me Blake. The pedals look bent in at the bottom. Also, what is that on the pedal stop. Rubber hose?

By the way, welcome to the smoothest lined, curvatious ride on the road.

Side cover leak! Bet you never had one of them before.

Blake,

Welcome to MGA ownership. I'll get a couple pictures of pedal sets in a day or two. I do have spares if you need a set.

The pedal stop should also be level. Its pretty cockeyed in the pic.

Thanks guys,,
What's odd is when I clutch I hit the high beam switch.. And with the clutch in and the brake pushed my feet are on top of each other.. If I have to mod something I will.. Right now I'm just getting to know the car between evacuating for a hurricane and work.. Of course I really drove into the hurricane instead of out of one..

Blake,

Here are a couple pictures of a set of pedals from a 1600. I noticed you have a 1500. I don't believe there is a difference between the two models.

I invested in a set of narrow-ish driving shoes. Unfortunately I can only make my size 12's so narrow before losing circulation!

Cheers,
Rich

MG pedals are for small narrow feet.

Blake, your high beam switch looks to mounted in the wrong spot. On my car the switch is mounted up high on the left side of the toe board, well out of the way of the clutch pedal.

Good call, Andy. Your's is where it is on my 56. Must be a PO mod on Blake's car.

Blake, here's another photo where you can actually see things a bit better. Note that the steering column was out of the car when this shot was taken.

Thanks Andy,, That make's sense.. My high beam switch is way wrong.. Also It may be the wrong bracket.. It's on the list...
Been working on my door alignment... Looks like new hinges are in the future.. Looks like they let the doors open too much.. Which would allow the finder to contact the door.. Must be worn out after 50 + years....:)

We have a 1500 and a 1600 and they have different brackets for the dip switch.
The 1600 is longer(hangs lower) and hangs lower than Andys. It sits just above the starter motor bulge. (RHD).
I have attached an image from the book Original MGA by Anders Ditlev Clausager which shows a number of pedal set ups.

Blake,

As David said, there are two different styles of dipper switch brackets. I will take a picture of the one in my car today and post the pictures later today or tomorrow. It is the other style than those shown in the other pictures.

I like the question "Are these normal", come on it's a MGA, nothing is normal on it.

Blake,

Here is a picture showing the pedals and dipper switch and bracket on my car. I sure didn't realize the carpet looked that bad! I guess I shouldn't expect it to still look like new after 24 years. I still have extra pedals if you decide you need any.

Best regards,

John

John, did you mount the switch there? Mine is located te same as Andy's..

David,

I mounted the dipper switch and bracket where I believe there were threaded holes in the chassis. It's been about 25 years ago but I would say it must have been the obvious place with the style of bracket that I have. I recently sold a switch and bracket identical to mine to Marty so I have to assume his car is like mine. I offered him a switch and bracket just like the one Andy has but he took the one like mine.

1600 was almost in the area behind the diagnal firewall brace as for over as possible.

My dipper switch is in the same location as John's picture. Mine is a "61"
