Let me know the issue as I'm installing mine in the AM.

Which Audiovox cruise control are people using on MGBs? There seem to be pile-o-part numbers, and googling "Audiovox cruise control MGB" brought up a bunch of forum threads with a "CCS-100" part number, but the kit seemed incomplete based on the forum thread.

So, what's a part number for a complete kit?

Use Mike Barnes' installation procedures!!! Did mine, set the dip switches as per his instructions and it worked perfectly, first time. If you can't find the instructions and want a copy, I have them saved in Word format.

The CCS-100 is the correct one, unfortunately it is no longer manufactured, the last one I saw on Ebay went for nearly $300!

As I recall, there was an issue with the instructions that came with the CCS-100 kit in that the dipswitch settings were published incorrectly. There was a corrected version done by Jim Miller that he passed out at the V8 meet in Tennessee some years ago.

The CCS-100 may live again...

Check here: Murphs' Kits
MU-174

I purchased my first CCS-100 here a couple of years ago before they got so cheap on Amazon.

I wonder how many people are going to pay the $20 and not realize they need to pay an additional $139 if/when the item actually becomes available. I almost did!

Sorry, I implied that they were not available yet with the "may live again" phrase. I did the same thing the first time I read the page. It still beats $300 on eBay (I saw that one last week too)! I hope he is able to pull off getting the kits again. Murph is a great guy to deal with.

I understand your "may live again". I was moreso referring to how at a glance you may think you're buying the CCM for $20 total and that it is not just a deposit. The $20 is non-refundable as well.

Only if you back out, it seems. If they can't come through, they'll PayPal your $20 back at ya. (Is PayPal a verb?)

I sold those controls until they dried up. I think this Rostra unit 250-1223 is now the next generation.

Ed, those look better than the vac units. Do they really perform better as advertised?

These look good, but pay attention to what you're buying. Some of these newer units require a VSS to be installed.

I've been sitting on a CCS-100 for 8 years now. I'm all motivated to install it finally, but at $300 maybe I should ebay it. :)

Install it, you won't regret it.

Here is a link to my installation guide I created for a V8 installation. The dip switch locations for a 4 cylinder installation are different. The 4 cylinder installation will also require a vacuum accumulator tank available at Napa and other parts sources.

I purchased a similar product from Dakota Digital http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=48/category_id=477/home_id=-1/mode=prod/prd48.htm but I have yet to get it to work. There are a lot more dip switches in this than in the Audiovox units. There are dip switches for something called 'pulse per mile'. Does anyone have any idea what that means? I don't know where to set that.

If they'd upgrade some of the internal components, and update the circuitry, that could be a real incentive for folks to buy these. The idea has been good and it is a nice compact unit. However, I've had two out of three of these eventually go to hell and not come back after a few years service with no exotic components (like LEDs) used in any of the installations. A few other folks have had similar luck, so I would like to see this unit become as reliable as the ones on either of the Hyundais I've owned since 1999. They still work. JMO

The dip switch setting should work for any number of cylinders. I just pulled the 4 out of the 79 and installed a V8, The cruise control stayed and works just fine with the same settings.

That is for newer cars with VSS, VSS unites generally give out 2000, 4000 or 8000 pulses per mile.

Ive had one for years and it worked fine until I change my rear 1157 lamps to led. Now it wont work at all. Working on a circuit now to correct this.
