Finally updated my website with pictures of me racing my B. Got a way to go to get the car to the way I want, but still want to enjoy it now. Today I am having my race tires swapped from my Honda's rims to my spare MG rims that I just finished refinishing.
I have a race this weekend that I will try them out on.
Some pictures of the car and me racing it can be found at my website page - race pictures
Still tossing up the idea of purchasing a trailer instead of renting one from Uhaul every other week. Don't think I can hold 4 race tires and gear in the car for the ride up. Just not going to happen :)

It certainly is a lot more fun than autocrossing my 92 Accord (which wasn't terrible). Nice racing with no top. I do need to think about adding a rollbar/rollcage though. My head is currently the first line of defense if there is a rollover
Paul, investigate rolbars carefully. Most of the ones commonly available for Bs provide no real protection. You may want to get one custom made, tying into the frame. Added benefit is it'll stiffen that open body.
I figure anything will be better than my head :) Had my eye on the bolt in Autopower bar, as it will fit under the top. The car is my daily driver, so having a top that can go up is important. .

Paul,
It looks to me that your car it at Rubber Bumper ride height at the front and Chrome Bumper at the rear.
Looks like a lot of fun!
I'm just suggesting you check 'em out...A GOOD bar will still let you put the top up (although it will probably be too low to be legal for some SCCA classes, which I don't think you're running anyway), it'll stiffen the frame, and in a worst case scenario it will actually protect you. The low-grade ones are likely to either crush (possibly with you under it) or just rip out.
I have a bar in mine, I think what is called a "street bar" in that I wouldn't trust it for racing. Both mains and braces bolt to the platform behind the seats (battery cover area) and don't really have enough spread for serious stress. If the main hoop went to the floor and the braces to the back of that platform it would be much sturdier. You might need to go to a fold-up top with it.
You should be able to get a good flatbed trailer for under $2K. Building a tire rack on it is easy if you can weld, or have a friend who can do it. I've got a car trailer I bought in '67 for $1200, and have used up two sets of tires on it. Tremendously useful beast! I've carried everything from Maggie to a Ford F250 to enough sheet iron for a 20 X 28 garage, not to mention a half dozen different race cars.

Just had the front end redone this past winter. The rear is original, so it is sagging, not lowered..LOL
Next project is to lower the whole thing to cb (or lower) level.

I'll probably get a 'street' bar, not a 'show' bar. I'm autocrossing in Solo II, roll bars are not even required. I want to do it to give me some protection, which is better than no protection.
Right now I am using Uhaul. Found a local place that has a bunch of brand new trailers. They do ride nice though. I do want to get my own, but the wife is not pleased to have a second trailer (other is for the boat) and 5 cars. A new trailer will pay for itself in about 3-4 years of paying for uhaul ones. Plus love trailering it with my pickup, as i can carry tons of stuff if I need to.
Now....if I could just fit the B on the back of the truck..mmmmmmmm
