Good news! After six months Fey has returned from the painters (they quoted me for three weeks...) She's all black now and ready to be put back together. It's kind of torture to be six hours away from home and not able to work on her until my breaks. Ah well, here's the before and after.

That looks great!

I like how in the last picture, the car is so shiny that you pretty much only see the reflection of the neighbor's house!

Wow, looks great. Did you get the painters to cleanup and paint the wheels too? I like the silver.

Very nice. Are you going to shine up the bumpers too?

Love the paint! Black looks so nice especially when it's clean and waxed. We're thinking of a new paint down the road and I like the black but our yellow is a standout.

Thanks guys, I have yet to personally inspect the job, but from the photos, I'm very happy with the result. And I certainly cant wait to get the stealth midget back together and running.

DontPanic:
The wheels are actually a screw up on my behalf. I was painting calipers with some caliper paint and over sprayed onto one of my, then rusty, wheels. I like the lighter silver so I sandblasted and wire brushed them down primed and painted them. I'll do the black sometime later, but they will do for now.

These are by far my favorite threads. As long as we keep seeing these little guys being restored to their original (or even better) glory, we can rest easy that our children and grandchildren will know how fun these cars are! Beautiful.
