Does anyone know what the correct color should be for the battery cover on a 67 B? Is is painted black, body color, or carpet color?
Thanks

a suggestion.. if you have a place near you that can do it, i would suggest having it powder coated... the coating is quite durable, and resists alot of chemicals ...
if you can live without it for a bit, most places can do it when they do batch work.. and black is a pretty common color... i had alot of my MG stuff with powder coat, and will do more, as time and weather permits..
just look in the yellow pages under either POWDER COAT and/ or METAL FINISHING..
if you have none local, the EASTWOOD COMPANY has a home unit that can be purchased and used..
good luck
Is that true with the later Bs too?
Mine is a chrome-early 74 and the cover is the body color. Thanks.
Looking into 'Original MGB' the color is black even for post 74 cars. Someone must have painted yours, but that's not a real problem. If it looks good keep it, it's usually not that visible anyway.
Thanks for the replys folks. The 67 I bought didn't come with a battery cover and I just managed to get one for $5 on Ebay. It needs to be blasted and cleaned up and then I was going to paint it with Epoxy Enamel, but I like the suggestion of powdercoating.
