Getting tired of the problems I am having posting here. Often I will type a message only to have it just go away with a keystroke. 30% of the time I can click on a thread and just get cut off completely and taken back to my AOL homepage. Never happens on any other BBS or webpage, just this one. Can any of you give me a clue as to what is happening? Started a couple of weeks ago

I haven't been having any problems at all, either at home or at work. I do have problems sending stuff to Tony's AOL email account

No problems here. Sometimes, just to be safe, I will copy a long note, just incase I loose it.

Just curious, has anyone heard from Skye? He hasn't updated the front page since April 3.

Here's a suggestion for anyone on AOL. Once you connect, minimize the aol broswer and open I.E. Most web sites are set up to use microsoft (although the newer versions of AOL have I.E. built in).

I use AOL for mail only (I've had it for years, and it only costs $7/m). It's real easy to click outside a window and have it "disappear."

I use I.E. at both work and home and have had zero problems.

I use Netscape but was having serious problems for a while where it would bomb me out similarly. Checked with Skye who advised that I update my browser to a current version which I did and have had no problems since. If you haven't updated your AOL recently you might try that or just do as Steve F. suggests and minimize it and use I.E. or Netscape whichever you have as long as they are a current version.

Just to confirm,

I have no problem with I.E. (at work)
or Safari (Mac's new web browser), at home

Woo-hoo! Another Mac user! I'm not the only one!

For the record -- no problem using Safari at home, nor Netscape 7 (Solaris) at work. Don't tell my boss... ;-)

Actually, I have broadband AOL, conected through cable. I have always liked the features of AOL and my screenname, gmasterman@aol.com. I've tried other services and cannot get a screenname that does not have a bunch of numbers and meaningless letters to remember, so I stay with AOL

Rob - count Kim & I as Mac users also.

I'm curious about Skye as well. Not only for his MG project, but his rally car project seems to be pretty cool as well. Maybe he's too busy to dally on the computer.

Hey Trent, I went over to Coverland to scrounge for goodies. Jim said you had called looking for a head, but they haven't had time to go through them all. He had just bought in three new parts cars, a 70, 69 and latter model. He joked the 70 could be my personal parts car, Goody for me, it was running, but the body was pure rust. Bet that head would work for you...

In regards to Skye, I hope he keeps up enough interest to keep the BBS going...

Another Mac user here. Have um, 4 or 5 of them. I lose track. All of them get used for something, even the geriatric ones. OK, they're all geriatric, but they plug along.

Anyway like, others' I would suggest it's one of those horrible AOL things. Don't even get me started on all the ways AOL is horrible, but it's web browser is particularly bad. I'm a fan of Mozilla/Netscape 7 (same thing, more or less... take your pick).

Wow, but there's a bunch of us Mac folk. My collection of "fruitstand stuff" -- as my neighbor calls it -- now includes about 8 Macs and about 9 Apple ][ variants. (I just shrug off his comments -- he's working on a collection of Triumphs, just as I've got the MG herd...) Hmm, old cars, old computers -- do I detect a trend here?

But I tell ya', I gotta get me one of them G5 things.... ;-)
