This IS fun .... RIGHT?!?!?!?!
!977 Midget ... vac leak coming from exhaust/intake manafold ... pull the manafold and find it is the SMOG PUMP (???) connection out of the exhaust manafold.
While I had everything off the block (i.e.: carb, intake, exhaust) I resealed the gasket, changed the studs off the block ... heck I even added new goop!
NOW, when I changed the studs off the block I only removed SIX .. four across the top two that were only holding the exhaust on either side of the intake manafold.... BUT I noticed there were EIGHT holes off the block, two under the intake that only tighten the intake ... BUT you can't get to them once the intake manafold is set in place!
I have no idea what to do here ... the car will not stay running ... too much air I guess (picky LBC's).
Any help?????

I had a 77 midget once, but it was long ago and it had a weber on it. Is yours a zenith carb?
Someone else will have to come on that has a midget, or is familiar with them. Most of us have B's here, which are similar, but different enough.
Are you able to get to them using an open end wrench? On the B's the top bolts are accessable only using an open end. Try that and see if it helps!
The two in the middle I can only access open end (on the top that is)... The two I need to get (down LOW) NO open end can get to it... they are only holding the intake .. but once you set the intake you can't get to them.. I have NO idea!
Brendon: I have an early Sprite and our cars are similar, but I have had no experience with those later model vacuum-assist, ZS carb cars, so I'm afraid I wouldn't be much help to you. Tom B. has experience with Midgets. Perhaps he can help. Keep trying! AL Bradley
