What is the best solvent to use to remove any left over buffing compound prior to sealing polished aluminum. Thanks,
Frank

Frank,

I use laquer thinner for cleanup of the piston chambers after polishing. For hard to get to spots, spray Gumout works.

Jimmy,
Thanks for the post...I had hoped you would see this as I figured you had the most experience at this of any body on the board.

Any cleaner will work. Soap and water even.

I also like the wax and grease remover that I used on all parts prior to spraying. Get it at any auto paint supply house.

I also use laquer thinner, Q-tips help you get into those tight spots, nad woon't scuff up your polish work, even something like shop rag or paper towell can compromise your polish work. I use those micro soft towell for final wiping of polished pieces, an old bath towell or wash cloth that has been washed a zillion times and has became real soft works too.
