You guy's have got too much time on your hands...I knew this would happen.

Is there no way to completely edit out a post?

No deep seated issue, boiling below the key board...just a post made unnecessary.

Albert, you are right....but now you've gone and ruined a perfectly good thread, probably the one containing the most wisdom on this whole site, condensed to a single..

Reading these, I'm reminded of a song! Let's see, "just how sharp you are". to paraphrase Mick Jager.

Wait a minute, I just realized this is WAY off topic. Don't respond.

So many times our family and friends say we obsessed with our cars and hobbies.

What we need is to start a Forum where you have to communicate with Morse Code - all questions, comments and answers - then we can tell everyone we are actually learning something and not just playing!!!!

Ironically, I'm currently trying to learn Morse...and my fiancee is wanting me to learn sign language as well.

It's pretty funny that typing-out Morse code in a text forum like this is much longer than just typing out the letters! :D

Nov 17, 2009 12:40:27

Josh, I posted to this topic using sign language but nothing showed up, so I would not recommend that. Stick to Morse code, Farnsworth method, 35 wpm. RZ

I had a secretary that used a more common method. She was a hunt'n pecker. On the keyboard that is..

I've been learning at 20WPM so far using the Koch method; so far, I'm up to 4 characters around 90% accuracy. I did a little reading on the Koch versus Farnsworth methods and I was more sold on the Koch method. I may try Farnsworth out and see what it's like. If I can get around 20-30WPM, I should be alright for all but the most hardcore radio operators. There's a very nice and free computer program I found for learning Morse at the link below.

Just Learn Morse Code

I used to know a radio guy many years ago who could transmit and receive at 40-50WPM; that little clicker sounded like an Uzi when he'd start up transmitting. If he found someone who could respond at that speed, it sounded like a blur to me.
