I am looking at buying a one man operation brake bleeder

Just wondering if anyone here has tried one of these and could give an opinion as to whether they are any good?
Or recommend something better!

I recently bought the Gunnson (think that's how you spell it) and it works really well. One person , no problems. Gave me my best result first up.
I've got an EZ Bleed from Moss. I like it better than having somebody pump it for me.
These work like a champ.

Motive. I have very limited mechanical ability and it has performed flawlessly on several vehicles.

Fill it, connect it, pump it up, and bleed. Done.
I have a similar set up and have given up on it. In theory, vac bleeding is fine but in execution there are problems. When you open your bleeders up enough to get a good flow out of the system, air is sucked into your bleeder through the bleeder threads. Used in conjunction with the Easy Bleed replacement fitting with a built in check valve works OK, though, because these bleeders have a thread sealant on the threads. I have found using pressure from either the bottom or the top to be far easier that using vacuum. I made up a version of the Motive bleeder using a garden sprayer. It works OK but I think an air tank regulated down to 25# hooked to a reservoir cap would be easier to use.

That's what I'd throw money at...
A lot cheaper than the exact same on efee. Let me know if I can help.
I bought the Mity Vac when folks on this site were raving about it way back whyen. What a POS. Worthless. The pressure bleeders mentioned here are the only way to go.
rick, that looks too simple."

Yep. Same thing.
I've got those on the '73, and the hardest part is eyeballing the off-side hose watching for the air bubbles to go away. Now I just put the car on jack-stands and use an extension - like a length of wood dowel - to pump the brake pedal while watching the off-side bleed. Easy-peasey.
Not yet. Over the summer I did a front-to-rear brake and suspension rebuild, so I got these as part of that job. I've got about 40k on the Rivergate conversion, so haven't had to worry about the clutch yet. First thing I'll need to do is find out the bleeder thread size on the replacement slave cylinder.

I have never heard a complaint about the pressure bleeders and a lot of praise such as RSS.
Purchased a vacuum bleeder. Threw it away.
I own an EZ-bleed I purchased off Ebay for $20 and a Motive bleeder.
I love them both. I can do a clutch in seconds. All the labor is in jacking the car up and clean up.
I only wish someone had told me this 30 years ago.
There was one person here who had a catastrophic failure using a pressure bleeder of some kind. Cap failed and blew brake fluid in engine bay I think. Seems like the cap was old and brittle, though. I have had an old cap fail as well but no other damage. Just food for thought

True confession time here. I put a cheap plastic drop cloth across the engine compartment and fenders and make a little hole for the m/c cap for this very reason. Nothing has ever happened except the profit margins are up at the drop cloth manufacturer.
I've had great success with the Gunnisons E-Z Bleed pressure bleeder. There's no need to apply more than 12 psi pressure to accomplish the job. It takes less than 10 minutes to bleed the entire system. RAY
I've used mine once and like it, but I had a problem when finished the MC was filled to overflow with fluid. Couldn't figure out how to get the level below the cap lip and ended up with a mess. What'd I do wrong?
Sounds like you sucked air into the system OR overfilled with fluid.
Thanks all for the input.
I will go with the Gunson Ezi-bleed for now.
The shipping to Aus is the killer for the Speedbleeder, almost as much as the purchase price!
I also enjoy my recently built pressure bleeder just as Gerry said above with a home sprayer. I just pressurize with air and keep an eye on the reservoir level so if the cap were to blow, it wouldn't be an issue.
I've been using Speed Bleeders for years. I have them on my Ford F-150, My wifes Isuzu Rodeo, my motorcycle and I will order then for the MGB when I get to the brakes.
Speed Bleeders couldn't make "One Man Brake Bleeding" any simpler.
Speed Bleeders come in numerous sizes what size do we need for the B's????
I still like my free one..................."
Is that a vacuum or pressure bleeder?
I did something similar with an old big plastic container from .... I have no idea what, maybe animal crackers though we don't eat animal crackers, but that's the size container. Cut a rough hole in the top for my shop vac hose. Then put some duct tape around the shop vac hose on both sides to try to seal it. Poked a hole in the side toward the top for a hose, this fit snugly enough that I didn't use any tape. Then attached the hose to the bleeder and opened it up.
I think there was too much vacuum as I couldn't keep it from sucking air in past the threads of the bleeder so it was difficult to tell when it was fully bled alone without going through the old bleeder style of pumping the brake with just a clear line.

FYI for everyone, I offered $20 and it was immediately denied. Must have a minimum set higher than that. Let me know if anyone finds out what it is.
I purchased a cheap one man bleed system from Autozone, only took it because when i asked if they had anything better, they said no......
One Man Bleed, Autozone
It looked cheap and normally cheap is not the way to go, but I had to get the brakes fixed and had no "pumper". Gave them my 8 dollars and have been very happy. It works great. The bottle could be bigger, but due to it's size, you have to empty before you have a chance of bleeding the master dry.
I took four drink bottles and added hoses to the bottom through the caps and some string to tie them off to suspension. Those used with a garden sprayer hooked to the reservoir cap works great. Cheap, too
I sell these for $7 each and can post them to AU for an additional $7 or so.
