I have a leak in the rubber rear line in my 77 MGB. I came across this site, http://www.northwestimportparts.com, and they seem to have some good stuff including a brake line set (front and rear hoses) for $32. Has anyone had any experience with this company or even with this set?

Thanks,
David

I know they've been around for awhile. I'm curious as well, they're somewhat near me.

I clicked on the link and didn't see the lines you were referring to.
I highly recommend stainless braided brake lines. They're more, but will last for a looonnngg time. It seems to give your brakes a firmer feel as well.

Here is the exact link to all the brake parts.

I don't have the cash for steel lines yet. Maybe further down the line i'll get some but my car has the original rubber lines that lasted 66,000 miles. I just want the replacements to get me through the fall.

Steve is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I purchased and installed that set a couple months ago. Go for it.

Does he include shipping in the price? I got submit order part and saw nothing about shipping.

Steve has been around a long time, and his pricing is very competitive. He has a couple of other things going for him, he's extremely knowledgeable and very service oriented. I have used him for almost 15 years. He uses UPS ground unless you need it faster, and the price is added to your bill. He has a limited catalog, but the things that break the most are all in it, and priced right.
Use him with confidence!
Have fun

and Oregon does not have a sales tax... He doesn't make his profit on shipping but rather good customer relations. If you order before 2 p.m. PST your stuff is shipped that same day.

That's a great deal. Thanks for the website, he's in my favorites now. I'm going to start using him once I get some money built up.

Steve Rollins has been selling parts and helping owners since the mid 1980s and has a loyal following, including myself. I first purchased from him back when I was restoring my 68 GT around 1987 and he always has a stand at the Portland, OR ABFM every Sept. Very personable, knowledgable, and good guy to work with.

When you get those new hoses, do yourself a favor and carefully wipe some rubber protectant (like Armorall or your preference of protectant) on the outside of the rubber hoses ONLY. If you have the time, do this at least a couple of times before installation. It will give those hoses an edge in surviving the harsh environment of road wash and filth a bit longer.

Thanks Bob. Never thought to put rubber protectant on new rubber components.
