I am not a "racer type" but I certainly do appreciate the skills and effort that go into designing and building a competitive machine new or old.
I AM captivated though by old spindly English cars, including racers.
Just looking at some of the old timers and newly built old timers gives me warm and fuzzy feelings.
PS: I like the white Austin 7 based one. If I recall correctly the Sevens had only two main bearings and anyone who can get 7500 revs out of two main four banger has my admiration!

Quite the gallery. If one can't appreciate the past, what does that say for the future?

The story goes that the Austin 7s had high comp pistons in 1 & 4 and low comp in 2 &3. At high revs the crakshaft whip equalised the compression.
Probably not true but does sound plausible.
