can someone measure the consol for me...

My new metal dash conversion on the 77 to the V8 dash means I have to change to the older CB front consol,but! my radio won't fit because of the metel behind it.I don't want to cut it but I thought if the US front consol fits the my radio would because the radio height is different and would fit the hole in the metal behind.

so could someone measure the back edge of it for me where the screws fix on.

and if it did fit I suppose the next question would be "who has a spare one"

I'm confused Les. Can you clarify a bit more for this tired Cannuck? I have a spare middle console from a 75 if that is the direction you are going... What and where do you need measured?

You know I read it again and it confused me and I wrote it!,I'm going to have a play with widows paint to get a pic of the measurement.

eh that Paint prog is childsplay,don't know why I didn't use it before,anyway,this is the measurement I'm after

from screw hole to screw hole... 3-3/4" on center.. Top to bottom... 7-1/2" at the back edge.

thanks Paul but its not going to fit,I need 9 inches at the back so its back to the drawing board.

I really thought that would solve the problem,if I could just get my radio a little higher it would clear the metal at the back.

changed back to the 77 consol with some small improvements.now I can get the radio in and an extra gauge;)
