And it even reads Miget on the side. Guess he thought he could get more if it suddenly became a MGB. Perhaps it morphs into one when you take delivery.
Eventually maybe he'll sell a Jag XKE as an MGB.
Used car salesmen aren't in it for the money. They just enjoy lying to total strangers.
Newt
looks like he used a program to list the car, like the insurance companys have, could be a mistake, but price is high for a Midget but low for an MGB in that shape...I think its a typo
The leather seats and alloy wheels probably help justify the price.
I looked at a B in a lot awhile back. Had some serious issues. (door locks bondo'd over) The owner of the lot said it ran well and he had been driving it daily for about a month. I peeked under the car and asked him if the overdrive worked.
"Overdrive....what overdrive?"
I see Midget/B confusion all the time in private sales, but it is a little surprising that a dealer would be quite that sloppy.
click on one of the pics & it opens a new window. He has it listed as Model...MGB, Trim...Midget. Its no typo, He just doesn't know what he has.
you know the difference between a computer sales man and a car salesman?
the computer guy knows when he's lying. or should.
To some people, an "MGB" is just the brand name of the car. I don't think they know that the "B" is the model name. So, anything, even a Midget, gets referred to as an MGB.
Other common confusions and questions:
1. What's an MG? Who makes it?
2. What's MGB stand for?
3. What model MGB is that?
And so on. Not that surprising that most people don't know any of this since the car hasn't even been sold for 28 years and wasn't all that big a seller when it was sold.
He's expecting to grow up into an MGB
