stock 65 MGB twin hs4
After adjusting the carburetors the engin starts but goes straight to 4500 RPM.
I have the throttle and choke linkage disconected, idle screw loose what could I have done wrong.

Throttle plate stuck open? and possibly Fuel overrunning the floats? Plates put in backwards?

Did you remove the butterflys? If so you may not have them centered up correctly.

Yes bouth idle screws
checked bouth butterflys closed. Carbureters have not been removed springs are good. The only thing I did was when checking the floats the frount bowl looked very dirty so I emptied it and blew it out. Was running good.
I should keep my hands off

How could it be making that much power with the butterflys closed?

With the linkages loose are there still springs there to shut the throttle plates?

If the throttle plates are closing you couldn't possibly be getting 4500 RPM. Something must be binding.
