I am replacing my carpet and I am thinking about using Formica adhesive for the pieces that are glued down, since I have a nearly full Qt at home. Has anyone used this for carpeting? I appreciate any and all opinions, as always. Thanks!

I guess that would work. There are not that many sections that are glued down as well.
Yeah, that's contact cement. Just don't glue everything down solid all over, just use enough along edges to hold the carpet in place. It never tries to jump up and run away or anything like that.
I used it on my last one and it worked well...actually better than the 3M sparay adhesive.
I went through this recently. Weldwood contact adhesive works well. Good chance the same stuff you have. I got it at Lowes and I'm sure they aren't selling it for carpet install. Probably veneer or as you say formica bonding.
make sure you have plenty of fresh air, I did my car several months ago and figured my shop was big enough for the fumes to dissipate. My wife came home from work and said "Hi". I said "I sure am" :)
Dry test each piece well and be sure of your starting point . Glue both sides, let dry to touch, and once it sticks there's no turning back without reworking.
