Goto your local hardware store and get a gallon of contact cement and a few brushes, also get a can of spray contact cement, sometime the spray is easier to use on certain area's.
I used 3M spray adhesive and not a lot of that 5 years ago and everything is still in place.
John, Was that the vinyl roof type? I've been happy using it on the dashpad and radio console pad, not to the carpet yet.
It was just the common 3M stuff. That carpet isn't going to try and go anywhere, it doesn't have to be nailed down with liquid nails or anything.
Now that the glue question is answered...in wet climates like here (Florida) I dont use carpeting on the actual floors, especially under the seats. When I do want carpet on the floor where the rubber mat goes then I just lay it down like a mat. Soggy carpeting under the seat loves to rust your floor pans. I also drilled two drainholes in floor pan just behind the seats. My driveway has a slight slope and those holes work great on getting rid of water build up.
Periodically checking to be sure the drain holes that come with the car is probably a good idea too.
To keep water from blowing into your drain holes check this out. Most aricraft repair facilities, (FBOs), have or can get an item you should have. It's called a "Sea Plane Drain". A little plastic jobbie about the size of a dime and shaped like a little hat with half the top cut off. Epoxy this over the bottom of the hole with the open side toward the rear of the car and you have a drain that's nearly the factory ones. If your local FBO doesn't have them just ask if they can get you a few on their next stock order. They don't weigh anything so there shouldn't be any freight charges on them as part of a stock order.
