So after I vacuumed out the B I used some 3M carpet tape I had to secure the carpet to the rear deck. (Yes, the spray-painted carpet.)
When I took the little car for a drive today it stayed put at lower speeds, but when I got on the freeway (~75 mph) the carpet flopped up and there were a few pieces of tape blowing around.
Any suggestions?
Does the two-sided tape with the foam in the middle work better?
Should I just give up and use a few spots of contact cement?
I was thinking of tacking down the edges and maybe a couple dabs in the middle. The DFPO moved the battery to the trunk and it actually seems to be okay there so I really don't need to get to the battery cover for any reason.

Why not use the original snaps? On my car, the parts mounted to the car were in place, but missing from the carpet. Bought new ones (either Moss or VB - I can't remember which) for a few cents, spent maybe 15 minutes installing 'em, and no more flying carpet!
Velcro that you have to glue to things would work good. The self stick kind won't take a licking an keep on sticking.
Without that battery box cover, I don't think anything will hold the carpet at speed. Also, it really does cut road noise.
Chris,
I think he said the battery is removed. THe box cover is still there.
I wouldn't expect that the carpet would lift that much, but then I haven't been able to drive mine at 70 yet, and besides I don't have any interior installed yet either.

Sure seems like a waste of valuable trunk real estate. Why not relocate battery back where it belongs at some point. Meanwhile go with the snaps as that is stock as well as working
Had mine t0 85 and the pice of carpet that I just laid over the batter cover never moved..
