The most discouraging thing about this is that these 3 idiots who have very little education are actually adored by so many.....I don't have a problem with entertainers but let's be serious.....They are some serious mental defects in my book.

While Madonna may not have completed her studies at the U of Michigan, where she majored in dance. She was, after all, encouraged to leave to leave school by her ballet teacher to persue a career, she was so talented. A peron can get education from other than college. She has gone a lot futher in her career than SP.

Alec Baldwin with a degree in Fine Arts from NY University, I'd say trumps SP's degree in Journalism from U of Idaho.

As for Brigette Bardot, she studied ballet at The National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance for 3 years before leaving to work. She has, herself, had a successful career. To say she's any less educated that SP is a bad assumption... Again, she has gone a lot farther than SP.

Journalism... if you don't know what you want to do in life, if you don't have enough sense to get a real education you get a BA in journalism. You might find work reading a teleprompter for a local TV station, reporting sports, or maybe in human resources at the local fish cannery. Who knows what opportunities that may open... It certainly is an enlightening major. For those who want a degree worse than an education.

For any well rounded human being, art is as important as science, IMO.

To say art is less than science is as inaccurate as saying science is less than art, IMO.

However, I don't take the political opinions of any actor, no matter how popular or successful, any more seriously than the average non-politician's opinion posted here. They are merely opinions.

It is my guess that it has been only in the past seventy five years or so that entertainers were thought of as being anything but third class citizens who could not be trusted to be within a hundred feet of one's daughter.

It has only been through the advent of mass film and electronic media that these people have been given the status that they have, and then only because we were all standing there gaping at the amounts of money that their agents were able to extract for the business men producers.

I don't take anything away from any sort of higher education. I certainly wish that I had been afforded an opportunity to "git ejecated", but that wasn't in the cards. I do though feel a real disgust for someone, anyone, who capitalises greatly on their unrelated celebrity to try to influence the masses on subjects on which they have little knowledge and are incapable of comprehending in the first place.
