Census

The census contains a category of race. Chose "OTHER" and write in AMERICAN!

I am not answering it, soon as you do that the gummint will know where you are, will want you to pay taxes, get a drivers license register your guns, etc. etc. etc. Where will it all end?????????????? :bouncing:

You can't be serious. Why would you not want to know what the ethnic make-up of the country is? How does remaining ignorant of that fact help anyone? "American" is a nationality. All races may apply, as always in American history, something we're proud of. The more races the better, as far as I'm concerned. I'd just like to know who we are. Don't see a single thing wrong with that. [Cue "Star Spangled Banner" music]

I'm a 100% serious. I think race should be removed from all applications. Until then we will always be divided. Race should not be the first thing people see in people.

I filled it out on 3/16/10. The question I could not answer was the one about How many people WERE living in the house on 4/1/10.
I called the listed number, but no one could tell me how to predict the future, so I just put the date next to the question and sent it in.

Received a letter today from the Director of the Cenus Bureau telling me that I can expect to receive the cenus form in about one week! I wonder how much (collectively) it cost to send out these letters?

and sex with often,

I have a cellphone. NOt only does the gov't know my ethnicity, they know where I am every minute of the day.

My Dad was born on Guam (son of US servicman). For fun, I check off 'Polynesian Pacific' or 'Pacific Islander' when I'm asked for ethnicity. Interesting note: I work for a Fortune 100 company. Every year, someone goes into my employee profile and changes 'Pacific Islander' to 'Caucasian'. Shouldn't that be illegal?

In the commercials they tell you if you do not fill out the census you will not know how many children are in school................Don't the schools know?

Frankly I think they are just yanking our chain!

I have been known to answer "Human" whan asked about race.

I got my third mailing regarding the census in the mail today, WTF?????????

I answered 4. the number living in the house on April 1. Thats it. The rest is irrelevant. Besides, April 1 is not April Fool's day for nuthin. Course they are going to get it early. Let them figure it out.

They send the mailings because, if you don't answer the census, they have to send someone to your house. It is a lot cheaper to send two or three mailings (or ten or twenty) to everyone than it is to send a census worker to the house of everyone that stuck the form in the recycling or lost it or whatever.

Which begs the question, if they know you live there, why do they need.....

I've been able use census data to compile a lot of geneological information regarding my family. I'm glad they didnt' have reservations about completing the census forms....

saw in the paper today they are expecting the census to cost about 47 dollars per person!!
