Hey, they're built in Alabama! Just a few miles north of Talledega! Whadda ya expect? Hell, the president of the company was wearing a baseball cap the other day when he explained how a V8 engine works to our governor....just a bunch of good ole boys building fast trucks!

What i find interesting is, what motor are they going to use? The dont offer any push rod v8? Infact all there motors are dohc..I don't know exatly what the rules for the nascar truck series, but i dont' think they allow fule injected dohc motors... But then again i could be very wrong.. But either way i am intrested to see what becomes of it.

actually Gary, the engines may come from Alabama, but the trucks are built 20 miles up the road from me in Princeton Indiana

they are actually developing a pushrod v8 for the series. Like the motors dodge anf ford run, it won't be like anything they currently sell

Hmm, what does that say about the NASCAR series, where a manufacturer has to 'develop' a lower technology engine to be allowed to compete?!

(With apologies to all pushrod engine lovers.....)

Dan D (let's see, 4 cars, 3 with pushrod engines..... VW is SOHC)

they don't want to change. FORD wants to use a newer design and even a racing fuel injection system they have developed but has been blocked by the GM interests. I remember when they had to actually sell the cars they raced, hence the Plymouth Superbird. Where can you buy a V8 rear wheel drive Taurus?

I love the author's mastery of the English language! (for a published article)

Quote: "...300 people who will produce 120,000 engines annually for the Tundra pick-up truck, made in Indiana, which be Toyota’s representative in Craftsman Trucks."

LOL! I've been wondering when someone would doctor that phrase to use on this BBS!
