no, i'm not looking for any recipes here. i found this stuff clinging to the underside of my oil filler cap, valve cover pipe (to charcoal cannister), and crankcase breather tube (to carburetor). it must be carried in gaseous phase, hence the deposits on the top underside of the valve cover. what the hell is this stuff and what is causing it?
thanks for any help.

That sounds like water in your oil. It could be bad condensation. Without seeing it it's hard to say. You might want to drain your oil and look at it. If it looks milky you have a problem. From ,something relatively minor like ,a blown head gasket to a cracked head or block. Also check you water for oil.
Get the hell out, loui. we get this crap on our computers direct all the time and delete it.
Probably just condensation. Old Honda Civic 1200s like mine were real bad about that in cool weather or a lot of short trip driving. It usually works itself out with longer drived in hot weather.
Well, for once I started at the top reading down. Looks like you covered it nicely already!
