Speaking as a man who has no air pump and no ZS carb, and has an emisions sticker, congrats!

Why the heck they stick it in the middle of the windshield??? Oar’s are on the side.. And because I have antique plates I don't have to have one:)

I'm lucky I live in a county that no longer requires a county tax sticker. Those are just as big as the safety inspection stickers, and they're pasted right alongside each other. Okay in an Excursion. Not so okay in LBC's. ;)

Yeah, most states that I've noticed seem to put 'em in the corner, does seem a litle nuts to me.

This is about the positioning of stickers on the windshield - honest - but you have to bear with me! Are you all sitting comfortably?

Many years ago back in Scotland I owned a Lada estate (wagon). These were cheap and rather 'agricultural' Russian made Fiat clones and were very popular then. I was driving up the M90 motorway (interstate) with an extension ladder (not a Lada) tied to the roof rack with not a care in the world when I was waved down by a policeman (cop) in a patrol car! I assumed that he was concerned about the ladder (not the Lada) which was overhanging the back of the Lada (yes - the ladder) by a couple of feet (but did have the requisite red rag tied on the end of it). He walked round my Lada (and the ladder) and I felt a slight judder which I assumed was him testing how firmly the ladder was tied to the Lada. But - no! When he arrived at my window he was holding his head and informed me that he had just walked into the end of the ladder (oh - never mind!) because he hadn't seen it!

Actually he booked me for having my tax disc (disk) up in the middle of my windscreen behind the mirror where it wouldn't obscure my vision but would be equally visible from either side outside. Not so, he told me - the law states it must be at nearside bottom corner! he had seen that while he was driving down the other side of the motorway at 70 mph (but hadn't noticed the ladder).

Old British joke - "what do you call a Lada convertible?" - "a skip" (dumpster).

My wife frequently tells me that humour (humor) doesn't translate well (she's American).

Jack

PS MidGe lives in Virginia and you should be able to see (in the pic below) not only the centrally located safety sticker and the town and county stickers but a blank UK tax disc in the correct place (for RHD)
