I have several used clutch discs and pressure plates hanging around. So I was wondering. Does anyone rebuild or refurbish these anymore or are they just scrap now?

You've got scrap unless they fit some antique farm tractors. Everything else is so common nobody needs them. It's been over 12 years since I've dealt with the sole re-builder of tractor clutches that I knew but I might be able to come up with the information on him if you need it.

40+ years ago I worked for an outfit (EPE) that did just that; for virtually all European cars (there were no other "foreign" cars then<G>)

Today, I dunno. If there is a core value listed on Autozone or usautoparts or rockauto or such, then someone still does it. But trying to do it yourself is absurd.

Yes, there are places that rebuild them. Most people simply throw away and buy new however.

Replacement kits are so cheap that you should not even bother thinking about restoring them. Also, while you are doing the clutch job, you would be well advised to have the flywheel resurfaced. Your car will shift like new with no chatter. Well worth the small amount for the machine work.

Welllll...... then there are those threads about current "junk" new clutches by QH, or whomever. And folks trying other clutches to get better performance, etc.

A quality Remanufactured clutch is waaaaaay better than most new ones on the market, IMHO. We use them on our racecars, and can specify stronger spring rates, etc.

I use with terrific results... www.fortwayneclutch.com

There's an environmental advantage, too.
