Considering glass hood from Unlimited Products, Fullerton CA. Any watchouts as far as prepping and painting this, can this look as good as the original steel hood? (which is rusted and split on front leading edge). Anyone ever purchase their MG-191 hood? Their ad says:

"MG-101
For 62-80 MG Midgets. Bolts to hinges and has full molded edges for perfect fit. Front edge has reverse edge exactly like original. Very sturdy with full inner bracing that is similar to factory style. Mount for secondary latch is provided. Cars with small engines need all the weight reduction they can get. Front chrome under-panel can be attached. Order MG191 for front latching style. Must use prop rod, springs not available"

Do you want the weight reduction for racing purposes?

If the hood is well made, you should not be able to tell it from steel.

The steel hood weighs nearly 40 pounds, while the fglas hood should weigh half that.

However, if your motivation is cost, good used hoods are available in the $75 - $100 range.

what is the price on that hood?
how much is shipping to east coast?
does it have metal nuts embedded to receive the bolts for the hinges and hardware?

what made you choose that manufacturer?
