The studs I have on the rear deck do not match the hardware which was installed into the top... the studs are too big (barrel-shaped).
I noticed other studs on the car that were more slender. Methinks these are the ones I need. Easy to find, I hope?

Thanks, Dwain.

I spent a couple of years in Savannah, 1969-72 ... beautiful.

I dug into my stash of studs from Moss when I was putting them back after the paint job and they were all too shoprt and fat. I went to my local Ace hardware (Not Home Depot where I work, LOL) and got the proper ones. They had old dusty boxes of them by the thousands. The ones I got were longer and skinnier. They didn't know the proper terminology for them and had them in stock for decades. Had to dream up a price also. This Ace is a true old hardware store where they have things they don't know they have. They also have a vast complete selection of fastners (bolts, nuts, etc, in all grades with full threads). So it doesn't hurt to check out older hardware stores.

Pete

Thanks for the tip. I think we still have one or two "Ace Hardware" stores here in town.
For really hard to find stuff though, it's "Burgess Hardware" in Tulsa. One of those dusty old "mom-and-pop" stores, it's like a trip through time walking the isles, and one of those well-kept secrets.

I do most of my carpentry/woodwork shopping at Lowes because in Tulsa they have the consistently highest quality lumber of all. I do shop at home depot some, mostly for tools, though (I bought my Dewalt D21008 drill there and it's one of the best I ever had... balanced, with smooth power).
