Ready to bead-blast and paint my rostyles(after hartwood acres). Anyone have a clue as to the proper paint code for the silver areas?
Thanks.

Mike,
I recently painted the rims for my Midget. I think they are the same color as the MGB's.
Here is a link with info and a picture:

I used a Ford "Argent Silver" single stage paint. Don't know the exact paint code. It seems to me that actual automotive paints are much more durable than paint from a rattle can. Although, I did use Rustoleum for the gloss black.

I used Chrysler Argent Silver, nason 2K urethene for my wires. Auto paint is better than spray can paint.
I use Ditzler (PPG) # DAR2593 single stage catalyst enamel for all silvers on British Cars. I believe it is Ford Hammer Silver. You could go to any auto paint store and they could use that number to cross over to other brands. If you use rattle can paint you will be doing it over in a year or two. Rattle can will not hold up to the elements. I don't care what brand you use.
For durabilty, consider powdercoating the wheels in silver, then painting the black over it.
.
Otherwise, I highly recommend take your (bead) blasted wheels to your local body shop and have them spray and bake the silver, using automotive paint.
.
With today's modern basecoat/clearcoat process (not correct for the B, but very practical), they can spray one color, and 15 minutes later mask and spray the second color, peel the masking, clearcoat and bake them.
.
Do NOT rattlecan your rims... the first time you have to dismount a tire, you are likely to have paint coming off the rim. Dont ask me how I know.
.
Finally, I like the department of redundancy department's choice of color:
Ford's "Argent Silver"
"argent" is French for "silver".

I agree the spray bombs don't compare. I don't have an oven but with modern catalyzed urethanes, it isn't needed unless it's a shop with an oven and they use materials specifically designed for bakeing. Blasting and good primer are the keys to makeing them last. I use PPG Epoxy but everone has thier favorites.
Find a tire shop with a modern tire changer. The shop I use has one that never touches the outer rim. Clamps internally on the inside rim and has a roller deal that stays away from the rim but pushes the bead down. They have to have them for the alloy rims so common these days. I've had tires changed on my Panasports without a mark.
