Good evening to all!
I am getting ready to install the cross member back on the car. It has been cleaned and painted. I actually get to put some thing on instead of taking it apart. My question is as follows. What should I install before I put the Crossmember on. I have installed the Bumb Stops but that is it. I would like this to go as easy as possible. hahaha. All help is very much welcome.
thanks fbradlaw

You could put the shocks on before the crossmember is lifted into position. Less is lighter.
I installed bare. As noted its lighter and easier to handle that way. Be careful homing the buffer pads to ensure they are seated properly before cinching.
You can put everything on first, but before you do, for God's sake PUT IN THE BOLTS THAT MOUNT TO THE FRAME FIRST!
Otherwise you'll have to disassemble it again.
Trust me, I know.
Also you can keep the bolts in position by sticking something like a long 1/4" bolt through the holes in the crossmember, apparently that's what they are there for.
Agreed, mount the crossmember first. Then start adding the peripheral pieces.
I just removed mine and it looks like having the shocks on first would make it much easier to go back in. Then again you don't have 28 years of dirt and rustproofing to contend with.
