i posted a while ago on the subject of my custom front splitter, well, i decided to fit it in the end. And thought i would post a few pics of how it fitted, i decided to fit it, in such a way that i did not have to modify the chassis rails for the grille, bumper or splitter, i want to be able to revert to the rubber bumpers if neccecary down the line.

the fit round the wheel......

interestingly when fitted there is 7" ground clearance from the bottom of the splitter.

Ok I'll be the first to say that I actually think it's very well done ... and aesthetically quite nice.

I hope you're not going to use shiny chicken wire to mesh out the holes aka some Barry'd out Lexus .. but if you were to keep it understated it follows the lines beautifully and makes it quite an agressive front end.

It won't make you many friends amongst the keep it original crowd though :)

Nicely done,

Pete

I have to admit that it doesn't look that bad at all. Well done.

I'm not seein' it. What's the difference between these fenders and stock ones?

Seriously, very nice. What's the final color and wheel combo going to be?

final colour will be inca yellow, with chrome bumper and rubber faced overiders, using mesh in the grille and splitter (powder coated black), just purchased a set of 14" x 6" 1970's wolfrace slot mag alloy wheels, sebring valance on the back (still to be fitted) with overiders only protruding through. and some phat tyres (none of those rubber bands for me) i know its not to every bodys taste but im trying to do something different but not tacky. (no easy feat on a classic car)

origionally i was going to, but i keep seing mgb's locally with them removed, i thought id be different and leave them on! lol. i need some protection at the rear of the car as people these days seem incapable of paying attention to the road in front, mobile phones, cd players, makeup, passengers, all seem to be more important than car controll, not to mention the people who "touch park" something i will happily smash their windows for if i catch them doing it to my car! lol
i would love a seamless look, but the car is a daily driver and i have had to screw my sensible cap on (its a loose fit)

Nice how the air opening is the same width as the original grill opening, and the center piece repeats the chrome center piece of the grill.
