Gary,
I have installed a set of Moss leather seat covers on my 1966. These were the first seats I ever did, so it was a bit of a struggle, but was actually easier than I thought it would be. The moss kit fit well, and was reasonably complete (I also purchased new foam, diaphram and clips).
Two things to notes; The covers I purchased were made by Moss Motors in their California manufacturing facility. I do not know if the vinyl seats are also made by Moss, or if they get them from an outside vendor. Second, i would be not be surprised if at least one of the other vendors is selling the moss seat covers.
Good Luck.
Don't forget Prestige.

I did a set of Moss for a 1972 GT. They are just like the originals. There are several places to go to look for installation instructions (Sorry, they won't come with the Moss kit) and some have great pictures and step by step instructions. The seats I did have all new parts (Seat diaphram, cushions, cardboard back and clips) and came out excellent.
Just some tips from others that made it go easier-
Do the bottom of the seat first. You need to do this so you can line up the pleats in the bottom seat and seat back. Also, be careful and think ahead when you are trimming the seat cover. You need to do this around the hinge (Where the seat back attachs to the seat bottom) and the back of the frame (Where the brace peice is on the frame for the seat rails).
You will have to add foam to make the seat back look good. If you don't there will be a weird crease where it goes over the frame. You can get the foam at a fabric store (My wife chose JoAnns). An electric carving knife does a great job of triming the foam to the correct shape.
Use a plastic garbage bag over the foam on the seat back. This will help you to pull the seat cover over the backing. It then gets removed once the seat cover is in place.
Use spray glue (I used 3M) and pay attention to exactly where it gets glued. I also used the trim adhesive glue (Yellow snot) on the seat bottom, where the seat cover goes over the frame. The clips then hold it down.
Take your time and you should enjoy the results.
I always use Moss covers, but do the top first since the bottom can be adjusted to fit the fluting of the top and not the other way round.
costco sheepskins at about $40 each.
I did Moss leather about 20 years ago and they still look good. I have also done, Fiat X1/9, Datsun 280Z and MGA seats. Just reuse your old foam if it isn't falling apart, add 1/2 foam layer to smooth the old stuff out. If I thought it was a bad job I would have stopped at the MGB.
My new mother in law is into sewing big time and has a heavy duty machine.
I am buying two full cowhides and doing the ENTIRE interior of my 74 in leather. Interior panels too. Even with new foam, webbing, etc it will cost me less than just the leather-topped seat covers from Moss. Plus I can add lumbar supports to the seats.
I was thinking of installing the seat heater kits Moss offers. Seems a bit pricey but once you've had heated leather seats its hard to go back.
Gary, you ought to check Lewisville Motor Company to see if they have any Miata seats. I picked up a leather pair for $200. Just wished they had the speakers in them :(, unless of course if your trying to stay traditional, disregard;)
costco sheepskins ..... to fit the early no headrest seats?
