Im planning on removing my dash sometime to check on some things. What holds it on and I have a pillow dash. Does it have any wood in it? Where are the mounts located?

No wood. There's 3 or 4 mounting tabs on the bottom of the dash. Then, there's the upper 5 nuts, this is where the swearing comes into play, which are located at the top of the dash. Laying on your back looking up into the dash, right up by the top of the defroster vents, you'll see 7/16 size nuts. A real bear to get at. Also don't forget to remove the choke cable and heater control cables.
Ryland,
Go to the Library link at the top of this page, under the "Resoration" heading, is an article relating step-by-step instructions for dash removal...
There are 7 nuts at the top. I always remove the steering column, radio console, and glove box first. Also it does make the job easier to remove the seats. Depending on year model you may have a hard line to the oil pressure gage. I don't temove the cable from the heater controls. I remove the comntrol with the cable attached from the dash. That's nessassary on the models with the heater controle in the radio console and makes it easier even with them in the dash. I don't remove the choke cable. I just unhook it from the carb and pull it through when removing the dash.
