I need to replace the metal vent "frames" on the defroster vents on top of the dash. What's the best way to get at theenuts that fasten them down?

Without taking the dash off I honestly could not say, but i can offer you this piece of advise, I took mine off went over them with a wire brush and painted them black with some rustoleum spray paint and they look as good as new, so that may save you a little money if nothing else.

Easy on the right side....take out the glove box. On the left, reach up with a long 1/4" drive extension and 5/16" socket. They are wrinkle finish by the way.

if you are going to order new ones remember the RB vent is longer than the CB.

I have new ones ready to go in.
How about pulling the speedometer and/or tach out to give access to the left side cover?
