I did a one-dayer for work today to Arcata, CA. Hwy 299 in Nor CA. About a 300 mile round trip through the mountains. A warm Fall day in the 70's. The GT ran great. Found myself using 3rd overdrive for a lot of the big grades. A nice in-between gear for climbing.
I saw a nice black MGB on the way over and a green Sunbeam Alpine on the way back. I waved, they didn't! :S

Today my wife and I took the b to In & Out for lunch , that's a pretty short trip so afterward we drove around town for a while just for grins. I was a beautiful sunny day , we had the top down and there was a sweet sounding exhaust note in the air.
No...but I patted one of them when I was out in the barn.
I got some used parts in the mail today, and also received a set of Fiero seat covers from Mr.Mike, so I had to locate the seats up in the loft. I'll start the recover after I get home from SEMA.
We drive our MG (either the MGB or the TD) everyday, 365 days a year - the only other thing we have to drive is an old Toyota pickup to haul stuff we can't get into the MG (or don't want to), like gravel.
Cheers,
yep. ran a short errand in the roadster-top down-and drove her to work and back. clear weather today 35 deg this morning commute and 65 on the way home. it was a LITTLE cold this morning, but i did it anyway. i blame it on youthful exuberance.
I drive a company vehicle these days so the MG no longer makes the short commute to the office. I really miss those days :(
Hey Rob
I almost made it to Arcata today-only got to Eureka. I left late in the day and it was wool hat, big coat driving.
Paul
Mine is put away see below weather for tonight
Tonight
Clear. Lows around 20 except zero to 10 above east Anchorage. Variable wind to 10 mph.
Dwight
I drove the '67 Tourer inland to Comptche and then along the coast on US 1. The hills and grades let the supercharger and OD work in harmony. RAY
Yup, drive it every day it ain't raining . Temp in the mid 70's today in marin.
Need to hop in the hot tub now Later,
Liam
I drove 128 feet to work, then 128 ft home...well, circled the block a few times:drinking:
No, but like Rick, I patted both Midgets when I went out into the garage. Does everybody do that...?

Yes... :)
About 70F and sunny when I drove to school today and low 60s coming home. Perfect.
Yep! Drove to school today and back. Top off and in 35+ degree this afternoon coming home. (that's over 95F for you US folk)
Storm coming, hopefully to cool things down.
Chris
Yup. To and from work today and yesterday and across to Penrith and back tonight. (About 110 miles all up.)
About 37 degrees celsius here today. (98.6 deg Farenheit)
I turned it around on the drive so that the hose would reach the other side whilst cleaning it. Yeahhhh.
Drove it yesterday, gonna drive it today, gonna drive it tomorrow, gonna drive it Thursday, gonna drive it Friday...................
How can you not drive a GT with new electrics, new dash, new heater, new stereo, new engine and newly rebuilt overdrive? :)
I drive mine everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even with the OUT LAW tail lights were I can be seen at night when I go home after the P/M shift! To me a GOOD ride is not how many states you go through, in my M.G., but how many time zones!!!!!! 74.5 G.T./ 510,000 miles on her today!
Drivin' it in my head, making vroom-vroom noises. Thought of peeing on the floor to pretend like I'm leaking oil but figured I'd get in trouble....
Five days, insha'Allah, and I'll be driving the '73 from NOVA down to Tampa for my out-processing. Couple days after that, and it's back up the other way and home for good.
No mine is waiting on a new starter.. walked into work though 6 miles round trip no big deal
40 mile round trip to med center for 'stress test'. Beautiful top down run with crisp autumn smell to the air, aced the test and doc was impressed at the spring in my step. Told him my stress reducer was waiting in the parking garage!
yep, 17 miles to work and will go 17 miles back this evening......every day!
No, but like Rick, I patted both Midgets when I went out into the garage. Does everybody do that...?"
Yep!
I've been driving the Cee to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. May try one of the Bees this Thursday.
The '75 is out front right now, 22 miles each way. :spinning:
No.

Drove mine last night 150 miles. When I left it was just above freezing when I got back it was 20f. Heater works great.
Yippers - but nothing that exciting - just a boring ride to work, back home for lunch and back to work is all... but, fun-fun-fun nonetheless!!! :P
I scraped the ice off the windshield this morning, and drove to work, 22 miles, with the heater on. I went out at afternoon break and put the top down and will motor home topless. I have to stop on the way and help a friend hook the tow bar to my newest, a 71 roadster that I bought Saturday. This means there will be 3 MGB roadsters, 2 Riley Elfs, and one Austin Mini in the driveway. Hopefully 2 roadsters will find new homes before too long.

Sunny Northern Colorado
The responses have inspired me to do a full Brit only commute this week. 90 miles round trip to Redding today. Back to Redding tomorrow, I think I'll take the Sprite with the tonneau.
WOW! Glenn!!! 510,000 miles? We have a winner!
Nope! My 78' is on jack stands awaiting new bushings. I did give it some TLC before coming in for the night.

One of my all time favorite drives. Learned how to really drive on that road by following the logging trucks. Need to get back up there when our MGB is restored.
I did. And it started to rain a little.. at least I know my hardtop can keep me fairly dry.. and if the seals were in better shape, I would say bone dry!
I took the car out for our monthly CT MG Club meeting. Before the meeting, Wayne Carini of F40 Motorsports invited the MG club for a private viewing of his shop and cars. You may have seen him on TV's "Chasing Classic Cars". He had a lot of nice cars... expensive cars.. so expensive I was worried to even get close to them, lol.
I took pictures, but they came out like crud.. I forgot my camera and my cell phone was horrible in the lighting. One ca of note was a MG he said was fairly rare.. I cant for the life of me remember the model though... what does this look like? I think he said it was a Y-type... YB maybe?
That's an MG PA Airline Coupe. Not a rare chassis, but rare in airline form, especially if it's an original body.
Robert, I have 3 other B G.T,s & each one has over 300,000 miles on each one of them. I have the BEST TRIUMPH ever made, you have never had one go faster, handle better, my TRIUMPH only has 2 wheels. 71 T100 with 80,000 miles. Brother bought new & I got her 2.5 years later.
Alas no, but I have been driving the 80 quite regularly these past couple of months.
Yes, to work and back. The weather has been beautiful here the last several days. Sunday, drove along the Columbia River to Hood River. Along the way, I took my new profile pic, the first with the new 15" Daytons with 195-60 Bridgestone RE960 AS tires. By the way, these tires are awesome and I highly recommend them if you are looking for some new rubber.
Good lord I wish I did we had a moderately warm sunny day for the first time in weeks but my sister and dad insisted on me putting it up at the shop weeks ago. sob. All I could think about all day was driving my B
Not today, but Sunday we took a ride. Temps in the mid 50's and a beautiful day. Did get some strange looks since our top was down, but since we have a good heater, it was great!
Barb
Heaters 'n' hoodies. What else ya need?"
well I don't have a working heater at the moment
and have driven my be in low 40's to mid 30's
with just hoodies, coats, hat, scarfs, and gloves.
fun times I tell you, can't beat driving your B at 6am
in the freezing cold...haha
Took the Sprite to Redding this morning. A 45 mile freeway drive. 4:00AM, 45 degrees. Top down, heater, tonneau, hoodie. Froze my a** off. Fun!
The early afternoon drive home was in the mid 70's....perfect.
Yep, went over to Brown and Gammonds to get a couple of mod's fitted to the TF ready for my trip over to the States next year.
Also will be going over to MGOC HQ workshops to have a third mod done in the next week or so.
ALASKA!!! at least 6-7 inches of snow. Around -10 for the lows, 20 for the high.......Winter projects and improvements have already put her into hibbernation till spring. But I get about 22 hrs of daylight in the summer,70 to 80 degress, haha. mikek
No...but I saw this one for sale...a mere USD $250k will put you behind the wheel of this MG6R4.
Yes, Last 2 days have been bright sun and no wind. Started at 40 degrees but got to 65 by noon. Great time to put over 300 miles on the B. Gonna do it again today!
I drove over to the bank this morning (top down, of course). Only about 8 miles round trip. It's about 40 degrees and nice and sunny. Should be going up to about 50 today and I'll probably take a drive this afternoon as well. I'll keep driving 'til the first salt goes down on the roads.
Drove the '72 GT yesterday to the gym and then downtown and around. Fixing to go get in it rat now and go on down the road. Too rainy here abouts for the roadster.
Mike
The GT around the block and back in the driveway for a quick clean up, car show tomorrow for the food bank in McAllen TX.
Yep...though it was only to drive out of the garage to wash it...the a little spin around the neighborhood...gonna drive the heck out of it tomorrow, though. Expecting sunny, mid sixties! Not many more of those left!
Didn't drive quite as far as I would like but I did take off the top for the first time in a month. These cars are so much more enjoyable with out the top.
