MGB: Disaster report

Just to wrap up the subject of my engine with terminal blow-by: Got super-lucky and found a short block right here in So. Cal., which is now on its way to my mechanic's place. The whole re-build and fitting the smaller bits begins today, so it won't be too long before she's back on the road and roaring. Thanks again to all who gave ideas and offered actual parts- I sort of wanted to go all the way up to Fairfield just to meet Mac, but this turned up nearby just in time. Daily Drivers rule!

Somehow I got to a guy named Doug, who used to have a shop in Pasadena which closed down. I thought he was gone, but he still sells parts from his house in Burbank- "Doug's British Car Parts". $300 all in, and delivered.
