Just bought a new coil for my car. The car is positive earth. The new coil terminals are marked + and - which one connects to the distributor. The old coil is marked cb and sw,which made it pretty obvious.Guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My MGA is positive earth and the lead to the distributor is on the + terminal.

Many thanks John .This is the first positive earth car I've had and I suspected that it may be as you suggested. Thanks for the confirmation.

Yes, that is correct. The distributor is the final grounding point for the ignition, so a positive earth car will have the positive terminal run to the distributor.
