MGB: Dizzy recommendation?

My 67 GT daily driver got a full rebuild about 5k miles ago. Now it's 40 over and has alot of pep, excpet at about 4000+ rpms where the torque seems to "flat line" with more throttle. It's running an original dizzy and I'm thinking things are a bit tired.

Looking to BritTek "ultimate ignition kit" and the glowing posts about Schlemmerizing.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

My recommendation would be to get in contact with Jeff S. and send that tired dizzy to him for some R/R. He'll put that thing back to better than new condition. Ask anyone here who has had his work done to there car.

Send the dizzy to Jeff, he'll tell you the best coil etc. to run too.

It's hard to beat jeffs work infact I just sent the dizzy for my 73 in for him to work his magic on. Hopefully it will end up just like my 75 and become an animal above 4k rpm. Currently it just plain runs out of steam at high rpm.

Jeff's are miles ahead of the new stuff out. Just do it!

The neat thing about Jeff is he has a questionnaire on his site that asks what modifications you have, so he can tailor the curve of your Dizzy to your particular application. That, I think, is super cool!

Did anyone suggest Jeff?

LOL!!! I guess I did ok by you guys? :D

I recurve a lot of the BritTek units too. They're not exactly optimal out of the box. Iff you want to keep your car original, its easy enough to rebuild that original 25D distributor so you can keep your threaded vacuum advance fitting too!

when i completely rebuilt my '64, i had jeff do the dizzy, and jimmy do the carbs...

they both do great work, and if you have any issues, they are there to get you going...

my car runs great all the way to the redline, and starts on the first turn of the key

I actually had a Eurospec dizzy in my GT before replacing it with one of Jeff's. His was better :)
The Eurospec was a good product, no real complaints just underwhelmed.

So - thanks for all the help!

Only problem is "DAILY DRIVER"....

If I send my dizzy to Jeff, I don't think I can drive the car, can I?

Do you do swaps - core exchange, Jeff?

David - that's what I did - he sent the distributor, I sent him back my core. Probably depends on availability of cores.

Its worth getting the bus for a couple of days!! Jeff's Dizzys are like having a whole new engine.

Jeff S does a great job. Mine was cracked at the clamp and the returned part was better than I could have gotten new.
