Con tact Seven enterprises LTD at 800 992-7007 or email: info@7ent.com/ or Mini Mania .com / They both sell 1275 parts and rebuild engines for Mini Coopers and Spridgets.

Not sure of the Turbo Metro head but the 12G940 (Mini) and the AEG1316 (Midget) smog head and interchangable
as long as they have the 9 studs. The AEG163 Cooper S 11 stud head would also fit but are prone to cracking between the intake and exhaust seats.

I have been under the impression that the hypo early mini had an extra stud or two. FWIW

You are correct. Cooper S AEG163 and 12G940 heads (1275) have 10 studs and 1 bolt or 11 stud heads but non Cooper S 1275 engines have 9 studs. These heads also have the 12G940 head casting. These heads came out late 1967 and up and were used on Metros also. They have slightly smaller exhaust valves hence less prone to cracking between seats. The AEG1316 Sprite smog head I believe is the same as the 12G940 except for the smog holes. I would imagine the Metro turbo engines used the 12G940 head also, thou not certain.

Hi, the Metro turbo head is based on the 12G940 casting, but unless your engine is turbo'd you would be better going for the standard MG Metro head (turbo head has lower compression and the same sized valves as a midget)

The MG Metro head has the same size valves as the Cooper S. They are getting a bit scarce now but they do crop up from time to time, these are also based on a 12G940 casting but are less prone to cracking like the earlier heads,

I wouldn't go out of my way for 11 stud head, we in SCCA racing never couldn't run them, had to run the 9 studs heads, and at compression ratios of 15 to 1 and with good gasket kept them sealed fine. AS for big intake vlve you can buy them and put them any 1275 head. I don't the 11 stud heads like they were H1N1, they are very prone to crack in between the valve seats. Also some thing to keep in mind with the Metro Turob, some of them used a very expensive head gasket that require extra machine work to the block for the head gasket, we ran those in racing until they came out with the Cometic head gaksets.
