my engine is getting close to completion,its costing me eight hundred for labor and machine work this includes,boring,cut crank,clean block,r&r freeze out and oil gallery plugs,cam bearings,re-condition rods,deck block,balancing and assembly of bottom end(install crank rods pistons) does this sound ok,remember prices are a little higher in n.y.c. thanks steve

$14/hole to bore. $100/crank. I can't remember what a vat costs for the block, but not much. When you add the other stuff, especially the balancing, that is about right.

When you bore, you buy new pistons!! Maybe 30 (probably 50 bucks) bucks each?? That does get expensive!! I think it is OK!!

You're getting a lot done for your money, probably right on the mark for NYC. Don't be surprized if they find they have to align bore the main bearing area of the block. It's not a normal condition, but I did on mine and it was a first for me. If the crankshaft binds in the mains with a good Plasti-guage reading it will have to be done.
