Lonnie - you may not be getting a response because as far as I know there is not a set minimum. I've done a lot of research preparing for my restoration project and from what I've read it is just a try and make sure it clears and is even concept. In my case I checked the gaps prior to taking it all apart and I just could get a piece of cardboard in the gap and slide it all the way around, if that helps.

I bet if you asked everyone to measure their door gaps you'd get 1000 different measurements. I would guess that most are "good enough".
