I remember something was posted about correctly fitting the boot lid so it will close evenly on both sides. On the Midget and now the B the left side of the lid in not flush with the body. I know there was an easy fix?

I shimmed the hinge with a couple washers - moves the deck lid down. I remember the same post I think - talked about shims being used by the factory. In my case, the PO had pushed down on the lid with the strut up.

Yes, this was common MY friends B had a crack in the lid where someone forced it down. So you used shims on the side that was up?

Yep - It moves the hinge, and the lid, down toward the floor. Take a look at the hinge and how it bolts to the car and it makes more sense..... the bolts point upward, so shimming with a washer moves everything downward. I suppose you could move a side upward by shimming where the hinge bolts to the lid, but it seemed more secure to shim where the hinge bolts to the body. Hope that helps!
